As part of Deb, John and Taffs "Motorhome Tour of the North" I decided to combine three previous Tiggy Tours and throw in a touristy hotspot too.
This route combines the Saltburn Trig Point and the Saltburn to Skinningrove tours with a little bit of the Saltburn Pier tour thrown in for good measure. After the Pier, for an extra bit of touristy-ness we went up the Saltburn Cliff Tramway.
The day started with Tiggy parking at Cat Nab Car Park where we followed the seafront past The Ship Inn and up the hill.
Then along the track and through the fields up to the trig point. Here is Taff posing at the trig point.
Heading from the trig point down to the clifftops and the Cleveland Way, following it down to Skinningrove. This view inland from Skinningrove Jetty shows the next part of the route, not back up the steps to the Cleveland Way, but up the ramp to the clifftops.
After clambering up the track to the top of the cliff you pass alongside the fence by British Steel Skinningrove.
This view shows the Cleveland Way steps below which we'd headed down to the beach via, but decided to take a different route to get back onto the clifftops.
Following the Cleveland Way north alongside the railway line, it wasn't until we'd passed that point that a train arrived.
You'll have to believe us here, this photo does kind of show Dolphins! One being the black dot in the middle of the pic. Too far to pick out with a mobile phone camera but we were lucky to see a few dolphins out to sea.
We continued to head along the footpath, along the clifftops and back to Saltburn and The Ship Inn.
Taff had a bit of a rest at The Ship Inn, he knew there was more to come.
From the pub we headed to Saltburn Pier and then up the Saltburn Cliff Tramway.
