This route follows the Cleveland Way along the clifftops from Saltburn to Skinningrove, with a quick visit to the beach at Skinningrove and then all the way back along the same path.
Part of the route passes by another Tiggy Tour (Saltburn Trig Point) and finishes at the Jetty at Skinningrove where Tiggy Tour (Skinningrove to Mars) ended.
Park for free at the usual spot in Saltburn by the woods here, then head down through the woods following Skelton beck to the beach.
Head along the seafront and past the ice cream shop or chippy for "supplies" then continue along the seafront passing The Ship pub.
Just behind The Ship car park are these steep steps, the Cleveland Way. The less steep path off to the right is the inland route taken in the Saltburn Trig Point hike. But we're heading up, up and along the clifftops.
When you get to the top you are met by this carved stone.
And this view.
Looking along the clifftops to Huntcliff, this is where we'll be heading, past the cliff in the distance and beyond.
At some points the path can get very close to the cliff edge, be careful here.
Keep following the Cleveland Way along the edge. This photo shows the hilltop in the distance where the Saltburn Trig Point lies.
Along the way there are a couple of sculptures. Scuplture #1.
And in the distance in this pic, showing the way next to the trainline, is the next scuplture.
Sculpture #2. Circle Sculpture aka Charm Bracelet.
From this angle you can see the disused Brotton Fanhouse in the background, part of the old mining works.
After that bit of art, time to continue following the Cleveland Way.
A closer look at the Brotton Fanhouse.
Carry along the path and finally we get to see Skinningrove, well, the Jetty at least. Here there are a lot of wooden steps heading down to the beach, this is the Cleveland Way.
It even gets sandy.
No point in going all this way and not walking along the Jetty.
The sea not looking as warm and green as it did at the end of the Skinningrove to Mars hike.
After chilling out by the sea for a bit it's time to head back along the same route. With one final check back at where I'd been and then along the path to Saltburn with a few sunshine pics on the way.
